Embrace love. Make your bedroom more intimate with art. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, here are a few ways to create a more romantic space that invites intimacy…

A dear friend recently shared with me that “Life is about romance, comfort and style”. And she’s right. After all, she should know. Women understand romance and style differently than men and I would go so far as to say that women are generally considered the more romantic of the sexes. In many ways they are more in touch with their feelings and certainly more comfortable expressing them. That is perhaps why they are more capable of understanding art — the true essence and meaning of art anyway. Certainly women appreciate art differently than men. And through their softer side, they bring a sense of calmness to man. And that’s a good thing.

It’s well known that a clean and uncluttered atmosphere in the room raise the senses to a greater level of appreciation for each partner. Sometimes little things like wall colors and art can set the mind at ease and help to lessen inhibitions. Adding romance to your bedroom’s decor can create an inviting and intimate space where passion is encouraged. Hanging sensual art on your bedroom walls offers a visual reminder that can titillate and stimulate sexual desire, encouraging physical intimacy.

Make your bedroom intimate with art. If you want to create a luxurious and sensual space that stimulates your senses, art can set the tone. The right painting can add a sexy, stylish feeling to any bedroom. For a romantic look, the key is to choose warm shades that create an intimate vibe. Burnt oranges, brick tones and chocolate colors are all attractive options that inspire romance. Black and white or sepia-toned artworks create a more romantic look for contemporary spaces and stimulate your senses. Certainly, the best way to create passion in your bedroom is through very personal romantic artworks – those of you for your lover or with your lover – artworks created to inspire romance.

As an artist, I’ve been commissioned on several occasions to create special personalized artworks designed to hang in the bedroom. The painting above, “Embrace”, created in mixed-media on metal, is a perfect example of intimate artwork. The couple featured in Embrace commissioned the painting for their home to celebrate their love for one-another.

A few ways to please your lover – or, at least some ideas for celebrating Valentines…

God knows I only know a few in the grand scheme of things. So, in closing, here is my short list ways to please her on Valentines Day…

Art, chocolate, cook for her, wash the dishes, more chocolate, take her to a movie, do something she wants to do, dance, give a great foot massage, go for walks together, listen to her (some would say this is number one on her list), offer her an awesome back massage, candles – especially the scented variety, flowers, jewelry, books, enjoy a great wine together, turn off your cell phone for your time together, take a long bath together, give her your time, perfume, listen to her music, take her on a vacation, text her a sexy message, compliment her sincerely, make her laugh, be present, laugh with her, be you when you’re with her and appreciate her for who she is… and the rest is up to you.
